Hosaka Corporation has extended the long-term supply period of the SC-340M medical motion and sensing controller from March 2029 to March 2031.
The SC-340M has been used since 2015 by manufacturers of intensive-care and acute-care beds, patient lifts and surgical tables in Europe, North America and Japan. Because a change of controller in a medical device requires the manufacturer to repeat a large part of its verification and regulatory work, our customers plan their products around the controller's supply period. Several customers have extended the production of beds built on the SC-340M platform, and asked us to match.
Under our Long-Term Supply Program, Hosaka has secured last-time-buy quantities of the processor and other key components, and will continue repairs and firmware support for seven years after the end of supply.
