Embedded Controllers

The SC series is the descendant of the HC-80 microcomputer controller that went into an electric power substation in 1978. SC controllers are designed into customers' equipment at board level or mounted on DIN rail in control panels, and run Hosaka's own real-time operating system, H-RTOS, beneath the customer's application.

Each model is supplied for at least ten years from launch. We keep the same connector positions and software interfaces across generations wherever we can, so that a customer can move to a new model without redesigning the equipment around it.

Software

H-RTOS 6 is the real-time operating system of the SC series, developed at our Hachioji Development Center since 1998. It is supplied to OEM customers with a software development kit, and its development process for the SC-340M conforms to IEC 62304.

A software bill of materials is published to OEM customers for every controller released since April 2024, as committed in our medium-term management plan.
